Thank you for weighing in! It always surprises me to be reminded how much of life, career, pivots rely on relationships — we all exist in a global marketplace now, where competition feels nearly impossible to stand out. The only way to do that is through authentic relationship-building; that's the edge now (and probably always has been, I was just a bit slow on the uptake thinking I could do things alone) — takes the pressure off of trying to be THE BEST at xyz thing or field — at least for me!

Love your take Jenny. As a copywriter-turned-coach, I see AI 100% replacing many copywriters. BUT (and it's a big one). People's writing is sounding the same. Even if they have ChatGPT spit something out and then edit it, you can FEEL it.

Early in my copywriting career, I saw that my clients who ended up with the best results from their copy and content were the ones rolling up their sleeves to get CLEAR themselves.

I still believe that everyone should write their own copy. This is the energy part. When someone writes their own stuff, it's their energy woven into the words. Are they perfect? We know that's a myth anyway.

Readers don't want perfect. They want honesty. They want your energy.

Am I or was I ever worried? No.

It's changed the industry. And change is great. It's always going to happen. More AI-driven writing means people's honest stories (spoken from the stage too) are more important than ever.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts — brilliant and insightful, as always!! Speaking of copywriting, I want to barf as soon as I catch the now-cliché AI cadence in something I'm reading . . . it is starting to drive me INSANE. You really can feel it! It's such a turn-off, and if they aren't out on the Internets reading a bunch like we are, the ones overly relying on it can't even tell how lame the output sounds. To them it sounds good, to us it sounds like more of the same ol' AI slop-drivel!

I am 100% with you on writing our own copy . . . the energy part, the intuitive part, the deeper soulful part. I love this line in your comment: "My clients who ended up with the best results from their copy and content were the ones rolling up their sleeves to get CLEAR themselves." YES!! I've always felt this way too, which is why it never quite worked for me when I tried hiring people to write things like my newsletter autoresponder series. It just wasn't me.

Love this too: "Readers don't want perfect. They want honesty. They want your energy." And, "People's honest stories (spoken from the stage too) are more important than ever."

Here, here! 🥂 Thank you again for always adding such wise (authentic, heart-centered) words!

You're spot on, Jenny. WE can feel gen AI right awa,y and to them it sounds good. I think we're closing in on a time where SEO will catch up and all that AI slop is going to ... well, flop.

And all that's left is the authentic and human voices.

For now, the work is to keep working, keep writing, tune out the AI noise, and keep supporting the creators who are creating with their hearts. There are lots of us out there. And really, even if there weren't many of us out there, that's also fine because we could all use a little less consumption and a lot more creation.

“AI slop is going to flop” 😂 Yes! Perfectly said, once again :D I’m sooo with you on the authentic and human voices standing out even more now in this vast Sea of Super-Slop.

Those humanoid robots are really something... creepy. If I ever have a robot I definitely do not want it to look human.

I do think that humans who cultivate and value what makes humans so cool and irreplaceable will definitely navigate our AI future best. Loved your point about what AI can never do for you... like, it can never be brave FOR you even if it can tell you all day long what you should do or how to be brave. It can never write a funny story about a time you almost ended up on Dateline that actually happened since it's had no embodied human experiences

Right?! And why on earth is the founder PROUD that he designed them to be smug?! I guess he's deliberately trolling / rage baiting people like me 🙄 Thank you for weighing in — so true about storytelling and humor, it's pretty abysmal at both. And I love how you put it: it can't be brave for us, can't live our lives, can't know our hearts — so the real connection happens between people, even if/as AI automates some of the rote stuff (like helping me with tax prep, which I am grateful for!)

Great point about asking different questions Jenny… especially about the tasks that AI can do better.

Years ago I heard someone share an example about the ATM. Bank tellers jobs didn’t go away, they shifted from handing out cash to more advising and problem solving.

The big difference we have now is speed… this this is moving so quickly it’s hard to keep up!

More importantly... AI could never create an experience like Business Besties Brunch! 🥂 one of my most favorite + memorable experiences ever 💓

I wonder about the ATM example, as the banks I walk into — even in NYC — are nearly empty now! Just a handful of people working inside…reminds me of Whole Foods’ self checkout — now just one or two people are tech support for 12+ machines. That said, there are way more “pickers” moving throughout the store (and grocery delivery peeps), jobs that didn’t exist before online grocery ordering. I suppose task-level things have always been next in line for automation or outsourcing; AI just accelerates that at a mind-boggling pace (ie I have hired fewer freelancers since I started using it).

You’re so right that nothing even comes close to Business Bestie Brunch!! 🥂 That’s truly in another category far, far away from soulless tech, hallelujah!! One of my favorite and most memorable experiences, too — so special you were part of the first (and possibly only!) one 🤩🥰 Though I have been pondering pinging Sarah about doing another one! Maybe this (and you) are the divine nudge ✨🙏😍

Yes exactly … the automation has always been there (I remember this discussion 20 years ago in the manufacturing industry when I first started my career)… it’s the speed that’s changing the game now.

Ahhhh yes the grocery pickers throughout the store are definitely notable… good example!

Yes yes yes follow the nudge!! 💫✨🤩💫🌟✨

Nothing beats in person (or hybrid) events/experiences when you have the right people… even for the introverts like me 😉

You both did such a fabulous job curating that entire experience 💖 I’m forever grateful!

Thanks for the shout-out, Jenny, and for asking the better questions! I really appreciated the nuanced distinction between tasks, jobs, and roles. If we can operate with that understanding as AI evolves, we will be better prepared to ride the wave with it.
