📊 PivotList Poll Results + Is Leading an Energizer or Drainer for you?
👇 Scroll down to the Strengthscope section to find out
Hi Friends,
Big thanks to the 55 Pivoters who voted in last week’s poll! The results are in:
💬 I would still love to hear from you in the comments . . .
I’m trying to get a better sense of what you see as the main differences between a live person (with all their strengths and limitations) and the instantaneous nature of AI — any input you can share is super helpful!
We didn’t get many comments on in the previous edition — click over to that for some of my favorite recent prompts — so I’m here with a friendly nudge :)
No pressure to answer all of these—even just one is great:
What experiments have you tried around using AI for coaching- or therapy-like conversations? Do you have any favorite prompts?
Those of you who voted somewhat helpful: what is missing?
Those who said it’s a game-changer: what is working best?
What do you think the limitations are for therapy use-cases? For career coaching?
When would you hire a live coach or therapist, and when would you turn to AI?
Do you prefer one of the AI tools over the others for these conversations?

💪 Strengthscope Deep Dive: Leading
Is leading an energizer or a drainer for you?
🔋 If leading energizes you, you love taking responsibility for influencing and motivating others. You might feel stressed or restless when you have insufficient opportunities to lead, or when you have to take a back seat at work too frequently.
Who annoys you: People who stand back and wait for clear guidance and direction from others, even complaining about a lack of leadership as the reason for inaction or inadequate performance.
Who is annoyed by you: People who are strongly independent, specialized in their own field, or simply want to control their own work outcomes and approach. They might see your leadership as unnecessary, domineering, or controlling.
🥵 When in overdrive: You may take a leadership role in inappropriate situations, e.g., when someone is already performing well, or when dealing with a self-sufficient team.
Self-check by reflecting: My impulse is to take the lead and provide direction, but I don’t want to prematurely squash other ideas. I’ll ask for input first.
🪫 If leading is a drainer for you: You may prefer to stand back and allow others to take the lead, particularly when this requires influencing others towards a specific outcome. You might experience stress when being singled out to lead and/or feeling alone in the spotlight.
Reframe it by reflecting: Which energizers help me effectively influence others?
